Steel Reinforced HDPE Pipes

Steel Reinforced HDPE Pipes

Technocraft is now, the sales and service agent for Steel Reinforced HDPE pipes in India. These pipes are manufactured in China by HTIDC, a government of China Company, based in Beijing. Steel Reinforced HDPE pipe combines the strength attributes of steel with the extreme corrosion and abrasion resistance of HDPE. Steel Reinforced HDPE pipes are available in sizes ranging from 50 to 600 mm ID.

These pipes are used with steel reinforced fittings and may be connected via steel reinforced electro-fusion connectors or flange joint systems. Available steel reinforced fittings:

  • Electro-fusion connectors
  • Tees
  • Reducers
  • Reduced Tees
  • 11.25°, 22.5°, 45° and 90° bends

Advantages

Advantages over Normal HDPE Pipes
  • Higher design pressures, higher operating temperature
  • Better spanning capability in brackets and pipe hangars.
  • Lower wall thickness and greater internal diameter for equivalent nominal diameter and pressure rating
  • Higher rigidity and mechanical properties, Superior impact resistance
  • Thermal de-rating coefficient is substantially less for elevated design temperatures
  • Much lower thermal expansion coefficient (approx. 30% of normal HDPE pipe)
  • No bead after welding, much lower flow resistance
  • Higher reliability for the welded joints because of the much bigger welded area
Advantages over Normal Steel Pipes
  • Double surface anti-corrosion without any additional surface treatment
  • Wear resistance superior to steel pipe
  • Smoother Inner wall, much lower flow resistance
  • Reasonable flexibility, less bends needed under some conditions
  • Lighter weight, simpler and quicker installation, lower cost
  • Lower coefficient of heat conductivity
  • No maintenance cost needed
  • Much longer estimated service life
